Name: Amaya Moriko
Place of Birth: Kirigakure
Date of Birth: April 21
Amaya is very delicate in body structure, as she has little muscle definition due to the fact that she relies on ninjutsu and genjutsu for her attack strategies. She has short green hair that barely reaches past the edge of her jaw line, as well as light teal eyes. There is rarely a smile on her face, as she tends to give off an unapproachable aura.
As a ninja, Amaya prefers to wear clothes that don't restrict her movement. She wears a single shoulder black shirt, with small black tight pants, and finger-less gloves that help to protect her dainty hands. Her legs are decorated with straps and weapons, as well as the traditional black toe-less shoes that ninja often wear. She keeps her hitai-ate tied around her right arm, and lastly (her favorite piece of her clothing) her neck is adorned with a small black stringy choker that reminds her of a childhood friend.
Amaya is generally unsociable, distrusting, and cold around people she doesn't know. She will not consider someone a friend unless she feels that she can completely trust them. It can take a very long time to break through her frozen shell, and the process has to be done carefully and patiently, but once she feels that she is understood, Amaya can become a caring and even loving person around her friend. She is very loyal, and will protect those she loves with relentless force, as it is very rare that she deems someone worthy of her time.
Due to her past, she's very disgruntled because of her father's death. She feels that she must fight to make up for it, whether it's missions, or just to protect the village. Despite the fact that her father died to protect her from the Kage and his shinobi, she carries no hard feelings toward them. Amaya believes that the fault of her father's death truly belongs to the man that threatened the village with the possibility of war because of the 'unlawful' death of his son.
- The scent of a forest after a heavy rain.
- The sound of running water from a river.
- Patient people that she can trust.
- The scent, sound, and appearance of fire.
- Loud sounds, or loud animals.
- Irritating pushy people that just won't be quiet.
Amaya was born to a family in Kirigakure that preferred to remain out of the social politics of the fighting villages. They raised their daughter in solitude, away from the rest of the village, believing that their ignorance of the battles at hand would provide the child with a more peaceful and fulfilling lifestyle. Despite their attempts to keep Amaya away from the violence, the child was fond of learning justu from her ex-ninja parents, and had plans of her own to fight for their village.
During her studies as an academy student, Amaya quickly rose to being one of the top students due to her proficiency in her skills and fast reflexes. Her speed and stealth was unmatched against most of her peers, and she was often known as the class favorite for her extended knowledge. Amaya quickly learned to remove herself from others, as she believed that most of her peers would die soon, and there was no need to create tedious bonds only to have them shatter so quickly.
As a Genin, Amaya made her first and closest friend, who helped her to encourage her parents to reenlist as ninja for Kirigakure. The family and friend quickly became a powerful team that served the Kage specifically because of their skills in infiltration and recovery. They performed missions with speed, accuracy, and efficiency, and within the next year, became the Kage's wild card for missions that required stealthy assassins.
While her family had become one of the most reliable teams for missions that involved the Kage, they had also become the one of most feared. Several people worried that the family would deviate, or the Kage would loose control, so there were many attempts on the teams life. During one of the attacks, Amaya killed the son of a very important diplomat, and to make amends, the Kage was ordered to kill the mislead ninja. To repent for the girls 'mistake', Amaya's father performed a suicide ritual in his daughter's stead, with the promise that Amaya would be free from her crime, and that she could continue to fight for the village.
Now a Jounin, Amaya continues to protect the Kage and any necessary secrets. The once feared team tore itself apart after her father's death, with her mother returning to the secluded home in the forest, and her friend deviating as a missing nin. With every completed mission, Amaya feels a little better about the passing of her father, and her torn family. She hopes that in time, she can find her friend, and reunite the bond the family once bore.
Fight with mercy, and kill with remorse. All are void when guarding a friend.
As a promising shinobi, Amaya's speed and stealth rarely can be competed with during a battle. She has incredible reflexes that help her to navigate safely throughout the forest, as well as a good knack for staying unseen to the searching eye. Amaya uses two sais to keep her enemies at bay, generally preferring to push them away so that she can concentrate on her jutsus and strategies in safety. In the event that she is unable to drive her enemies away, she will use genjutsu skills to disorient her opponents until she has reached her desired location.
Amaya always carries with her two sais, as she enjoys their ability to deflect an opponents blow with ease. Her preferred weapon when she intends to deal damage to her enemies is the long throwing needles. Her needles have been dipped in a toxin she brews herself, giving each needle the ability potentially stun and disrupt the afflicted's nervous system.
There are little to no specific names for Amaya's techniques, as several of the original strategy names have been lost to history. Her most favorite tactic involves pinning her enemies so that she can finish them off however she decides, without the worry of an interruption. Although most of her strategies are easily altered depending on her enemy's fighting style, she must be able to be in a situation where she can focus in order to properly control her more powerful jutsus. If there happens to be another genjutsu user, she'll do her best to remove them quickly from combat to prevent them from toying with her mind.
Amaya tends to refrain from using too much chakra, as her Kekkei Genkai requires a high amount due to the severity of the attack. Her most commonly used jutsu would be the famous water clone technique, as she enjoys how they can be both a distraction, as well as a damage dealer to the enemy. Her next favorite is a simple senbon jutsu, where she calls senbon needles from a scroll that fire at her enemy. Lastly, her most unused technique is one that involves her sai. She puts chakra into the blades to increase their slicing ability, upgrading the weapon with the chakra. As the sai blades are dull, the chakra upgrade allows for better slicing maneuvers.
Cleansing Tears is one of the more difficult jutsus that Amaya utilizes, just as the Kekkei Genkai requires a lot of concentration, the Cleansing Tears jutsu also requires a decent portion. She must focus her chakra, gathering the moisture in the air (the strongest users can summon the water if there is none nearby), only to drop it all in an instant upon the enemy. The water's weight tends to crush the enemy, and drag it away as it flows.
Porcupine Plant requires a plant of almost any kind, but for the jutsu it is best to use a small flexible plant for control. The jutsu involves the user manipulating the water inside the plant into sharp spikes, and generally setting an ambush or trap for the incoming enemy. The jutsu kills the plant in use, but requires little chakra from the user due to the simplicity of the technique. Often the damage dealt to the enemy is minuscule, but enough to prove an annoyance so that the user can escape or utilize other jutsu.
The Viscous Blood Jutsu is considered the most violent jutsu of the Moriko Clan, as it involves intoxicating plant or animal life with a deadly virus known only to the Mori people. Once it enters the body of the victim, the body becomes toxic to the touch, and is near impossible to remove, killing within minutes of entry. In many cases, the Viscous Blood Jutsu is used as a last resort, and the Moriko user will infect his or herself in order to have a higher chance of dealing lethal damage to the opponent. Once infected, the user will attempt to bite, scratch, or draw blood in any way from the opponent, as it increases the chance of a deadly infection.
Spitting Pine Forest
The Moriko clan has never been powerful in stature or in numbers. The amount of people with the Kekkei Genkai is dwindling, as it requires a pure bloodline, and an immense amount of concentration to activate. As less and less people are seen with the Moriko strategies and abilities, the people who can still utilize it's strength properly are becoming more unusual and hard to understand.
People of the Moriko clan tend to use the common throwing needles as their weapon of choice, adding a special poison to make it more deadly in combat. Specific poisons vary from user to user, but the most common toxin viciously attacks the nervous system when it enters the body, causing excruciating pain, nerve damage, and slowing the opponents movement.
The Moriko clan had begun as a simple bloodline of only a few members, and even as the population grew, little attention was payed to the heritage of those with the bloodline. After many of the children who were born with the bloodline realized that their Kekkei Genkai was both mind consuming and hard to control, several stopped becoming ninja due to the disability of the slow Kekkei Genkai. With members quickly dying out or choosing more sedentary lives, the Moriko clan was nearly entirely forgotten about, and it's remaining members became extremely secretive to protect the last of their secrets. Today, they still roam, separated as they no longer hold together like a family. The members that remain are often misunderstood and confusing, as there are few things that resemble their uses of their chakra, and they're not fond of opening up to others.
'Run, run, run.' The words echoed through Amaya's head as she dashed from tree to tree. She could barely describe what had happened if someone had asked her, all she knew was that her target activated a jutsu that swallowed him whole, and it was coming for her next. Without wasting a moment, she scaled one of the taller trees of the forest to get a decent view of the jutsu she was running from. Her eyes traced the borders of the dark crater the jutsu had left, no signs of life within the impression.
'Perhaps I was able to escape, it doesn't seem to be growing.' She thought as she waited patiently for something else to happen. The man she was fighting had tired every jutsu she'd tried on him, and just as she had pinned him, he'd tried to take her down with a unique self destructive technique. Amaya had never seen anything quite like it before, as every living creature that had failed to escape was swallowed whole into a dark void. Now the crater seemed harmless and inactive, as the jutsu had long ceased it's power.
No matter what the reason, or how many it killed, the incident had to be reported to the Kage. The jutsu seemed to be unique, and therefore, it had to be recorded. It could be quite bad if someone with this technique was to self detonate within the walls of Kirigakure, so the perpetrators must be stopped before they can reach the safety of the walls. Resuming her course once more, Amaya rushed back to her village with the new report, deeming it top priority for the Kage's ears alone.
The Veridian Seeker was the name given to Amaya for her tendency to perform missions for the Kage that generally included searching out and destroying a target, or seeking information necessary to complete other missions. It is also believed that the nickname came about because of her Kekkei Genkai, in which green poisonous needles seek out the body of the victum.
